"To Tailgate or Not to Tailgate..." that was the question.
The answer was quite simple: ABSOLUTELY!
Nearly 75 Courtland and Spotsylvania alumni, family & friends came together to celebrate the time-honored team spirit & camaraderie shared between the Cougars & the Knights!
The food was outstanding! Our own Kyle Danielson outdid himself preparing the menu; his "King of the Grill" efforts have not gone unnoticed! Everyone's side dishes were a perfect compliment to the meal. The desserts were yummy and the two "football jersey" cakes, one representing Courtland & the other representing Spotsylvania, further marked the unique relationship and "friendly rivalry" between the two schools! That kind of spirit & teamwork can never be taken away from us!
Catching up with old friends, including Senator Edd Houck; seeing the kids play; gaining a few extra "winter" pounds and cheering on the mighty Cougars under the Friday Night Lights, the evening was fun & enjoyable! Some alumni ended the evening by listening to the very talented musician Sean Harris, CHS '82, at The Tavern.
Regardless of the final game score (Courtland 47 - Spotsy 0), this Tailgating Event was definitely a "TOUCHDOWN" for all!
Thanks to all that attended the 2nd Annual Tailgate Reunion Party and we look forward to seeing you and those who didn't make it this year at next year's game as we celebrate this new found tradition!

A good time was had by all during our 25-Year "Weekend Celebration" held October 16-18, 2009.
Despite Friday night's rainy football game, the Cougars blew the Eastern View Cyclones away with a 27-0 "RAW MEAT" victory!
On Saturday night, we took an amazing trip down memory lane. Our evening festivities were held at the Riverside Center and included:

We concluded our festivities on Sunday with a Family Pizza Party at the Spotsylvania YMCA. We were honored to have several of our teachers join us too!
Much time and effort was put into this 25-year celebration and we thank our Alumni, family and friends who attended any or all of our events. We look forward to reading your comments and feedback on the Message Board.
